On behalf of the Columbia Debate Society, we are honored and privileged to invite you to the 2026 Columbia Invitational, our 24th annual competition.
This year's competition will be from Friday, January 30th, to Sunday, February 1st.
This year’s tournament will host the following formats:
1) Lincoln-Douglas Debate - [Varsity, Novice, Middle School *NEW*]
2) Public Forum (PF) Debate - [Varsity, Novice, Middle School *NEW*]
This year’s tournament will be hosted virtually.
1、分组标准
Novice is defined as a student in their first season (2025-26) of debate competition at any academic level.
Middle School indicates students enrolled in grades 6-8, regardless of their number of years of experience.

Lincoln-Douglas Debate
2026 January
Resolved: The possession of nuclear weapons is immoral.
Lincoln-Douglas will follow the 6-3-7- 3-4-6-3 format, with 4 minutes of prep time. Ties will be broken based on record, adjusted points, total points, double-adjusted points, judge variance, opponent wins, and flip of a coin, in that order. The break will depend on the number of teams registered.
